I really enjoyed reading over a number of your articles because they were about practical politics. There are a lot of politics news, horse race, and talking head-oriented blogs and sites around but precious few actually talk about the art of campaigning for office.
I also do a bit of that. You're welcome to check out my sites too:

Your essays are great, Nethanial. You seem like a fascinating person. I regret that though we walked the same halls at about the same time at Boulder High (I was '84), I never got to know you. Still, now, I enjoy reading your take on growing up in Boulder.

4. philosophy of mind - The branch of philosophy that is concerned with the nature of mental phenomena in general and the role of consciousness, sensation, perception, concepts, action, reasoning, intention, belief, memory, etc. in particular. Standard problems include those of free will, personal identity, mind-body problem, other minds, computationalism, etc.
The philosophers of mind deal with metaphysics as it is concerned with the nature of mental phenomena, how mental phenomena are related to natural phenomena, and philosophical psychology broadly construed. Philosophy of psychology is sometimes considered as a subfield of philosophy of mind. However it is, perhaps, more closely related to philosophy of science.
While the great philosophical distinction between mind and body in western thought can be traced to the Greeks, it is to the seminal work of René Descartes.
The history of philosophizing about the relation of body and mind since Descartes is the history of attempts to escape the Cartesian impasse. Early maneuvers of this sort, such as those of Malebranche, Spinoza, Leibniz, and the French materialists La Mettrie and Cabanis, were formulated in the context of metaphysics, in direct response to Cartesian dualism. Later views which arose in the 19th century needed to reconcile evidence from studies on the localization of cerebral function and on functional nervous disorders with prevailing theory in biology and psychology. These discussions reflected the newly accepted view that the brain serves as the organ of mind. Although these theories of mind/brain relations -- epiphenomenalism, interactionism, dual-aspect monism, and mind-stuff theory -- were formulated in the context of science, they too were oriented toward circumventing the Cartesian impasse.

AYATULLAH DR IMRAN LIAQUAT HUSSAIN
Having stumbled on your blog and found this guestbook, I thought it was kind of pathetic to have 2/3 of your comments be from your family. So I took pity on you and decided to up the ratio of non-family:family comments to 1:1.
To my point. I'm an aspiring political/tech entrepreneur living in Washington, DC. I got here via a link from your bio in the VIP list from the Personal Democracy Forum conference. I'd be interested in meeting up with you some time to tell you about the software business I'm currently starting and to get your take on the idea. I think it has the potential to change the world. Plus, if you like it, your company could theoretically be a reseller! (Though I promise the point would not be to sell you anything.)
If you're interested, get in touch with me at "davestern" /at /gmail -dot-com.
(Yeah, I could've just emailed you, but then I wouldn't have had the chance to make fun on your guestbook.)

I am hoping this is the protocol for entering comments in to your sign-in book. I thourouly enjoyed your blog and specifically the living true to self writing. This is something I am struggling with. To balance (for want of better word) family, work, spirituality, and soul-satisfaction. Two books I have read and recommend are Art is a way of Knowing by Pat B. Allen and Art is a Spiritual Path also by the same author. Don't let the titles turn you off. The books speak to being true to your-self. Another essay I came across is one by Morty Bashar called Oops can't find it.I'll e-mail you later. Contact me if you have difficulty findind it and I'll send it to you. Thank you for your work and the connection. Barry.

This is your mother. I just fell upon this part of the site and decided to say hello. I hope that you don't limit the number of family pictures you post. I love to see them. And Connie never looks like a dork.

This is your wife. I felt bad no one has yet signed your guestbook. So I'm starting it out for you. Keep blogging. And if you mention me, please keep to the facts. And, try to limit the number of photos of our family that make me look like a dork.
