Trouble in the fair city of New Orleans

Connie and I visited New Orleans not that long ago, before my daughter was born, staying just outside the French Quarter in a wonderful old building with high ceilings. We enjoyed it tremendously. We loved the architecture, the food, the arts, the zoo, the special feel of the place and its very vibrant culture.

So I am really distressed this morning about the situation brought on by Hurricane Katrina. Any time there is a natural disaster and lives are lost and people are dislocated and property is destroyed it is awful. But this situation gets to me even more, I guess because I found New Orleans to be such a special place, but also because I feel connected to Louisiana through three of my employees who hail from that fine state and through my company’s clients in that area.

I’ll be looking for ways to help out today.
